From the website: “Ginger Pale Ale is flavorful beer that pairs brilliantly with a variety of foods. It’s wonderful with sushi, Thai dishes, and Peking duck because it cleanses the palate and awakens your taste buds. Brewed like a classic English pale ale, but uniquely with ginger, galangal, and Mandarin orange peel.

Ingredients: Munich malt, crystal malt, victory malt, two row barley, ginger, galangal, Mandarin orange peel, noble hops”

Crisp, Citrus, Tangy, Ginger

    Comment:

Drink this with any light-minded asian food meal, like sushi or a nice bento box. The ginger is a great “fruit” twist to this basic hoppy pale ale—it’s not sweet or syrupy. The ginger and carbonation have a nice interplay. With a complementary snack, it goes down way to easy. Ends with a tangy citrus impression. However, if you don’t like ginger, this one’s not for you.

Pours to a light, true amber with a very thin head. It’s crisp and tangy, with a bit of a carbonated bite to it. The ginger taste is evident, as are hints of citrus and just a touch of spicy hops. It’s nice and balanced, not too sweet or too bitter. Mouthfeel is light/medium bodied, sort of tingly and easy drinking.

Having this one with a spicy homemade sicilian flatbread pizza and it’s proving to be a great compliment. I can see why they say it would go great with Thai.

    Good stuff!

    Comment:

Very flavorful; very ginger-y. I don’t dislike it, but the ginger can be a bit overwhelming, even though it has a nice crisp refreshing flavor to it. It might go well with sushi, but again, can be a bit too much flavor-wise.

I think I respect the ale more than I like it.
