Brewed for Bottlework’s 10th Anniversary. From Bottleworks: To create Matt, HotD Brewer/Owner Alan Sprints took his Adam and blended a combination that was aged in both apple eau-de-vie and 33 year-old bourbon casks for a year. Sprints says “Matt is deep and lush with notes of apple, chocolate and smoke.”

Pours a dark red brown with a thin head. It’s sweet and strong; like liquified brown sugar mixed with bourbon and flavored with sweet candied apples. Definitely a dessert beer. It’s good stuff that packs a punch, a sipper for sure.

Delicious, and one of the few beers I appreciate more as it gets warmer.
You’re supposed to keep this beer around for a couple years to really enjoy its full flavor, but I can’t imagine looking at this bottle for two years and not popping it open!

Had this at the Brouwers big wood festival and it was by far the best of the 15 or so beers we had at the table. It was darker than dark, thoroughly chewable and had some amazingly tangy and sweet hints of it’s bourbon barrels. One of the tastiest beers I have ever had.
- Characteristics: bourbon creamy dark rich sweet tangy
