This ain’t your Dad’s malt liquor. Brewmaster John Maier has Roguerized the recipe by adding 40% Midwest corn, lightly hopping it with Oregon Crystal Hops, and then lagering it at a warmer temperature to help bring out the sweet, crisp flavors of the corn.

Alright for a malt liquor, I suppose, but nothing I’d buy again. Sweet, and I guess a little fruity and yeasty around the edges, but mostly just sweet.
- Characteristics: malty sweet

Very hard for me to rate this, but I found it pretty unmemorable. Malt liquor’s purpose is generally very different than craft beer, so I am not sure quite what to make of Rogue brewing this. Overly sweet (more caramel than anything) with a flat, yeast-like taste.
- Characteristics: caramel sweet yeast

Pours golden with a quick thin head, no lacing. Not a “bad” beer, malty nose, has a fizzy, sweet, alcohol kick. Kind of weak in body.
- Characteristics: alcohol fizzy malty
