Rich and deep flavor. Subtle red fruit, but not fruity. Complex mix of sweet, bitter and a little spice.

This is an old standby for me. Readily available in the eastern US, fairly inexpensive, and absolutely delicious.

Beautifully smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Sweet and heavily malty, undertones of dark cherries (though their presence is not as strong as advertised), brown sugar, maple syrup, and alcohol.

This is incredibly well-made American Belgian-style quad; Ommegang may be the only American brewery with the capacity to pull this off as well as they have. Bravo.

    Comment:

Fantastic American Belgian-style quadruple. Very rich, very alcoholic, extremely delicious. Not for the faint of heart. At about 10 percent alcohol, you can’t drink too many of these without falling over. But it’s not made for drinking lots, it’s made for savoring. Highly recommended if you like Belgian-style beers.

Pours amber brown with a fine foamy head & nice lace. Aromas of Malt & cherry. The flavor is balanced with hops, Belgian yeast & that wonderful subtle cherry flavor.

    Characteristics: balanced cherries smooth
