I enjoy this beer. It is nice and dark, but not too rich or filling. In my opinion, this makes it good for accompanying a meal that can hold its own with a bold beer.

Hearty, yet not filling beer - pours light, cloudy brown with smallish, quickly dissipating head. Some residual lacing. The aroma is malty and nutty, followed by a somewhat complex crisp flavor. I noticed malty and nutty hints. Slightly nutty aftertaste, with a hint of coffee.
Bottom line: Good*, not great, Brown Ale, but overall another top-notch brew from Bell’s.
(*much better than Newcastle!)
- Characteristics: brown nutty sweet
