She taunts and teases… In-Heat Wheat is our German-style Hefeweizen. She is a full flavor beer, perfect for the more adventurous craft beer drinker. The addition of malted white wheat gives this brew its smooth, full mouthfeel. A proprietary yeast creates intriguing flavors of bananas and cloves.

I’m a bit of a hefeweisen elitist; if it’s not a true German-style hefe, it loses a lot of cred with me from the outset. This is not a true German-style hefe.

But, that being said, this is a decent, drinkable wheat beer. Mildly spicy, with notes of banana, cloves, citrus. Well (overly?) carbonated, with a floral, spicy aroma…somewhere between an IPA and a witbier.

Really like Flying Dog’s In Heat Wheat! A nice alternative Hef. The only problem I have is trying to find a place that sells it or serves it on tap. I live in Seattle & of all places, I can go back home to Iowa to Old Chicago & find it there on tap easily. But in Seattle, I must not be looking in the right places.

I’m a big fan of hefeweizen ales and this one ranks high with me. I love how Flying Dog’s beers are so easy to drink and consistent. This one is no different. It may not be a “true” hef, but hey, it’s a good beer!

I’m generally not a hef fan but this one might change my mind! One thing I like about Flying Dog beers is that they’re distinctive - they have a lot of flavor. In Heat Wheat is no exception. Malty-sweet taste, like a mixture of bananas and cloves. Verrry smooth and easy to drink, with a crisp finish.

    Characteristics: mildly-hoppy smooth spicy sweet
