The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover’s dream, masterfully blending together five roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.

This beer can only be found in the fall. If you like malty beers, then I recommend you try this one as soon as you can find it. I love it’s strong malt flavor with a hint of fruitiness. I just wish it was available year round.

Not bad and actually quite good for an American impression of a German beer, but it still has a hint of that Americanized, watered, sweetened thing that so many American brewers do to their beers. Still, I’ll choose a Sam Adams over all the large domestics if there’s no better choice, and I’ll enjoy drinking it.

This is my favorite mass-produced beer. The bottle is pretty great; on tap, it’s obscenely delicious.

One of the first non-macro brews I had. An old favorite, can usually count on this being on tap when it’s in season.

I’m a Sam fan, even went on the tour up in Mass. while I was in town (lame, skip it and go to the bar down the street and save some time) and I always look forward to Fall for this very beer. A good flavor to it, and a welcome change from the Summer Ale they produce, which I’m not a fan at all.
And like most beer, on tap it’s quite a bit better but in the bottle still a very good Ale.

This is pretty fantastic. Gorgeous color, great balance, malty, and a hint of sweetness. It might be my favorite offering from Sam Adams.
