While there is a great malty foundation to this brew, Mike’s Double IPA showcases his appreciate for hops. In fact, he included seven different varieties of American hops, totaling over six pounds of hops per barrel. The hops add an intense floral and citrus aroma to this brew.

Very impressed with this beer. As I poured it into the glass, I could smell a sweet, floral aroma (and I wasn’t even looking for it).
The smell is bitter, tastes of pine, citrus and grass. After taste is bitter and earthy. Would be great to have this available separately/year round.
- Characteristics: bitter earthy hops

I had heard great things about this beer and was not disappointed. A huge hop aroma assaults the nostrils right off the bat… but I mean that in a good way.
The hop flavor is balanced with a healthy malt base, making it a dangerously smooth beer. Luckily, there are only two DIPAs per Longshot sixer, so you won’t overindulge in it’s 9.6% ABV warmth.
- Characteristics: hoppy malty undertones
