Dark, rich, roasty and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer. Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley. Have one with (or as!) dessert tonight!

As with most of DFH’s high alcohol brews, this one is super-drinkable. Which means it’s probably a good thing that I’ve only ever found it in a store one time. Sweet and syrupy, dark and incredibly, overwhelmingly delicious.

Roasty-toasty is how I always describe this beer. It’s a pretty filling stout, great as an after dinner indulgence. Thick, sweet and filled with malty deliciousness, this stout is best described as decadent. The smooth vanilla and coffee flavors top it off. Highly recommended. I actually had this beer served over vanilla ice cream once. It was ridiculous…in a good way.

The World Wide Stout is one of those beers that truly gets better with a little age. It loses a little of its viscosity, but is far from thin. Served at cellar temperature it works wonderfully as an after dinner treat.

Very think and high in alcohol. Quite tasty but obviously one is just about all you’ll be able to drink in one sitting.

Got lucky finding this one, not readily available in my area.

I’ve only had this once, but it’s a favorite.

Dogfish is serving it at Savor (savorcraftbeer.com) in May. Hoping that it’s aged; it’s supposed to only get better.

    A great thick stout.

Very chocolaty and caramely. Goes very well with dark chocolate and creme brulee.

It’s pricey, but it’s worth it every now and again.

Dogfish Head produces another beautifully constructed beer in World Wide Stouts. To refer to this drink as rich would be a bit of an understatement. The bold roasted elements and strong coffee notes are omnipresent making this a most enjoyable stout.
