Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling – Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile

Possibly one of my favorite consistently drinkable stouts, barely has a hint of Yeti in it, but still amazing. Good cold, but better at just below room temperature, when it brings on a very full mouth feel, almost like chocolate milk.
I usually pair this with something like a Lagavulin 16 year scotch, for a little contrast in flavor and to bounce your palate around a bit.

Pours nice and dark. Great light tan head with awesome lacing. This is tasty stuff. Smokey coffee sweetness with just enough bitterness to not be top sweet.

Tasted at BeerCamp in Denver (at the Great Divide brewery).
Best stout I’ve ever tasted. Well-balanced, vanilla from oak.

This was the smash hit in the group of a dozen or so at BeerCamp in Denver. Straight from the brewery, it poured dark and creamy with a strong vanilla nose and just the right amount of roasted bitterness that you’d expect from a stout.
Still, not being a bourbon fan, the excessive vanilla was probably the weak spot from this stout; I may be the lone dissenter from the group I sampled this with, but I preferred the regular Yeti Stout over this one.
