Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops throughout the boil adds pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex.

I feel a little ambivalent about this one.
It’s a good, strong stout with a hefty kick. Lots of licorice and malty caramel, but not quite as roasted as I’d have expected. A rich, thick texture that feels just right, but a weird yeasty and almost blue cheese like flavor that permeates and doesn’t quite suit it. Starts sweet, ends with a bit of bitterness. Overwhelming alcohol for something that’s less than 9%.
I’d be up for giving it another try, but on first pass it doesn’t quite live up to the rest of Green Flash’s offerings.
