This is a lacerative muther of a beer. The evil big brother of Arrogant Bastard Ale. It is strongly suggested you stay far, far away from this beer. Those foolish enough to venture close enough to taste will experience a punishingly unforgiving assault on the palate. ’Course there’s always the masochists…

Reddish brown, with a creamy tan head. Aroma is full of hops, malt and alcohol. You can tell this one will bite you. Flavor is bitter with hops, roasty malt. Metallic aftertaste and lots of apricot. Body is thick and cloying. Respect this beer. I’m glad I had a friend to share it with. It’s mighty and it’s might good.

Pretty good. Need another similar to compare to. Tastes like a lot others I’ve had before. Still delicious and strong. Very good to sip on if you enjoy a strong roasted beer.

This beer definitely reminds you that you are indeed drinking beer. It lives up to the Stone standard of great strong brews.

I prefer the Oaked version of Arrogant Bastard, but this is a close second. Incredibly hoppy and pretty darn warm thanks to the alcohol.

I love “the Bastard” and had to try this one. I loved the hop character, sharp up front, and strong though out with out being sickening.

Very malty, reminds me of a barley wine. Has citrus in the smell, taste is sweet, slightly boozy. Goes down smooth for a 10.5% abv.

It’s delicious, but living up to its name, Double Bastard is not at all drinkable. The second half of this 22oz is looking awful daunting…
