Alcohol: ABV 7.00% / ABW 5.60%

Hop Ottin’ IPA is as hoppy as they come. The name means “hard working hops,” in Boontling, and that tells it all. Generous additions of high-alpha Pacific Northwest hops added during a vigorous boil, plus traditional dry hopping, with whole hop cones, give this ale a delicious citrus aroma, and an intense hoppy bite. This IPA is a hop lover’s dream.

It’s got a very strong hop aroma that leads you to believe that hops will overpower the first taste. To my surprise, the rich caramel flavored malt came through in the beginning followed by a confident hop finish. The more you drink it, the more you notice the subtle flavor color throughout. It’s the best “dessert” IPA I’ve ever had.

This is a really good, well-balanced IPA. It smells stronger than it tastes, because I was expecting something overwhelming. It does have a ton of hops, but there’s a rich sweetness to back them up.

I really enjoyed this very complex IPA. Has a full gamut of delicious hops, from a pine resin flavor over to a spice and fruit vibe as well. All well-balanced by some pleasant malt backbone. 7% alcohol was nicely veiled by the flavors but still noticeable. I’d gladly order this again and again.

    Characteristics: complex fruit resin spice
