Belhaven Wee Heavy

- Variety: Ale · Scottish Ale · Wee Heavy / Scotch Ale
- Alcohol: ABV 6.50% / ABW 5.20%
- Preferred vessel: Pint glass

It may have come from a right old recipe but Wee Heavy fits the bill today as much as it ever has. It is a classic Scottish heavy but has a lightness of flavour and a great reddish colour in the glass. Cracking stuff if we do say so ourselves.

Color: Cola Head: White, dissipated quickly Aroma: Bready, molasses, apple, dark fruits, coffee Taste: Dark fruits, subtle hops
Nothing spectacular, but still pretty good. Flavor isn’t overpowering. Great session beer. Borderline watery, but not there.

Pours a nice dark russet with a nice tan head. Great lacing! The taste is sweet and malty, but nice and even and less heavy than I expected. Has hints of brown sugar and maple but again, not too sweet. Mouthfeel is a bit creamy with a nice crisp finish. Good stuff!
- Characteristics: malty maple sweet
