From Smith’s: Samuel Smith’s Organic Ale is reminiscent of the early 20th century brews not only in the brewing process and flavor, but label design as well. Certified organic by the USDA-accredited UK Soils Association.

It’s a delicately flavored golden ale in which subtle fruity esters from the Samuel Smith yeast strain interact with a background of maltiness and fresh hops.

Serve with: Dungeness crab salad, free range herbed chicken, hummus, smoked salmon and masala.

Sweet, Malty, Light, Fruity, Apples

Pours to a nice, but somewhat watery looking, light amber with a very slight tan head. It’s sweet and malty, with hints of fruit, maybe apples. Has a surprisingly nice feel, light and drinkable. This is a really nice light amber… good stuff.

Smooth, light, but a little creamy too. It definitely has some hints of fruit, I’d say apples if I had to choose one. Not too hoppy and very drinkable.

    Comment:

A friendly little beer that goes down smooth. Tan with the Amber-orange color of cowboy boots and the slightest bite of fizz on the tongue—you’d never suspect it was organic.

There is a tangy element to this eco-friendly ale—like ripe apples dotting the english countryside, made crisp by the autumn wind.

    Characteristics: amber apple fruit

Alive with flavor, I pick up a bottle or two of this on a holiday to drink out of a frosty mug while cooking dinner.
