Rusty Italian translation from the brewery’s own description:

A christmas beer. A beer perfect for meditation, or to sip in front of the fireplace. Perfect for celebrating the holidays in the best of ways.

Soft, full bodied, warming, with an intensely malty scent, and hints of roasted coffee and cocoa. Dark, with a strong alcohol content and body of expressive, elegant fragrances. Easily drinkable, while still remaining complex and structured.

    Comment:

Wow, what a rare and unique beer.

Smell: Smells like a typical strong Belgian: notes of molasses and dark fruit, caramel, coffee, and chocolate.

Taste: The alcohol is there, but pleasant. I enjoyed it on a cold, snowy night, and the consequent warming was welcome. A very complex flavor, but well-balanced. The tea flavors are evident, but not overwhelming. The strangest part was the mint…it left a fresh-feeling, long-lasting, minty aftertaste, not unlike a good wintergreen gum. A good wintergreen gum that gets you drunk.

Great, unique beer that I would love trying again.

On tap at Churchkey in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC

    Characteristics: camomile chocolate coffee
