Arguably the finest of the Munich Hefeweizens - certainly among those which are regularly exported. Always a good sign when a Munich beer is favoured by the locals as well as the tourists.

A fine example of a solid Hefeweizen. Enjoyable with a slice of lemon added or straight up. There’s a richness to the taste of it and its mouthfeel is not thick like the oatmeal stouts but not as thin as an American domestic like Budweiser. There’s also a light fruity overtone to this beer.

This beer is great with German cuisine or with a nice steak fresh off the grill. It’s definitely a summertime favorite for me.

I considered giving this one a full 97, but I wanted to leave myself breathing room in case another beer truly blows my mind in the future.

Had this for the first time last summer on the patio of an area restaurant, overlooking the river. Light but full of flavor, smooth, and a gentle fruity aftertaste with no bitterness. If you like chewy stouts this probably won’t be your cup of tea, but it’s absolutely my go-to for evening sipping or a good dinner.

At 5% the option of a second bottle is there without the worry of going face-down, too. Definitely one of my favorites.

A firm favourite amongst the weiss beers I’ve tasted.

Spent a day on the Franziskaner carousel at the Oktoberfest around 2001.

One of my -if not THE- favorite go-to beers. First discovered this beer when a friend brought a case of it out to a reservoir many summers ago. Always reminds me of that innocent summer long gone.

One of the best brands of hefe, I’ve tasted. It’s very nicely balanced, not too yeasty but with a distinct wheat beer flavor.

Finally! Been wanting to try this for awhile now.

Pours a nice hazy golden with a big fluffy head with great retention and lacing. It’s got a very straight-forward and clean taste. It’s full flavored, but there is nothing too fancy here. Hints of citrus and banana, some bread/yeast flavor and a bit of spice. Has a decent body, lots of zip from the carbonation. It’s a bit bubblier than I’d have thought, but I like that.

This is one of my favorite Weiss beers. Tasty, with a solid finish. Very good in a cold goblet where the aroma wafts up to your nose and the head has room to breathe.
