From http://www.schneider-weisse.com: Liquid amber since 1872. With its amber-mahogany coloring and streaked with fine top-fermenting yeast, this beer has a fine, persistent head that adheres well to the glass. It is pleasantly spicy with a typical top-fermented smell. An arome of clove and nutmeg apple tantalizes the nose. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious and well-balanced. It finishes lightly sparkling with a light and fine bitterness.

Amber-mahogany colored wheat beer Pure top-fermenting yeast Typical original taste Original bottle or keg fermentation Brewed according to the recipe of Georg I. Schneider from 1872 Wheat beer 5.4 % vol. alc. Original gravity 12.8%

    Comment:

Pours a nice cloudy amber with a nice tan head. First taste was sweet, with a bit of a spicy clove bite at the end. It’s refreshing, if a bit darker and spicier than I’d imagined.

Probably the best wheat beer I’ve ever had. It’s misty, its relatively thickness and flavour is up to face any Erdinger or Paulaner weizenbier.

    Characteristics: spicy wheat

Can’t think of a better Hefeweizen. Also worth noting, this beer is co-brewed with the Brooklyn Brewery in New York. Check the bottle.

One of the milder hefeweizens out there. The flavor is light and lovely. A great beginner’s beer.
