Absolutely delicious, my favorite of Rochefort’s highly impressive offerings. Reminds me strongly of St. Bernardus Abt. 12 which is my all time favorite brew. Plums and figs and alcohol and chocolate and caramel and toffee and carbonation, all of these things just dominate your tastes at once and cover your entire mouth in flavor. This beer is huge and impressive, but very strong and also highly rewarding. Tan head, dark brown/ruby liquid, intricate lacing, aromas just as strong and delicious as the taste and a finish that lasts and lasts and uncovers every flavor in succession. This beer borders on distilled love. God bless these monks.

Beer noob checking in: I think this is the first Trappist ale I’ve had (and possibly one of the first actual from-Belgium Belgian-style beers) and I immediately see why they have the reputation they do. Real good!
